We have some VERY exciting plans for next season!
Dr. Sarah Jane Owens has worked tirelessly with partners in the UK to be able to import new Royal Golden Guernsey semen to the US, for the first time in something like 18 years. Two bucks made it through the looong quarantine & testing period. A third buck unfortunately passed away after quarantine but before final testing, so his straws are now unable to be imported.
We snagged 5 straws from each of the two eligible bucks! We didn’t want to be greedy and buy them all, but it sure was tempting haha. Because we bought so few, we want to give them the best chance of success with Laparoscopic AI. We found a couple local-ish farms scheduled to have vets come in, and we will be joining them with our best Guernsey does!
