We’ve wanted a Mosaic Menagerie goat for a while now – Courtney has really similar goals to ours, so when she said that Smoothie was still available, we were stoked!
Long, strong, and smoothly blended from end to end, Smoothie has so far stamped his kids with width, depth, and balance while keeping the dairy character we love. He he has proven he can add both strength and style to narrower does, and his kids so far have had better feet and legs than their parents. They have the softest coats in our herd, too!
We haven’t freshened Smoothie’s daughters yet, but we’re excited to see how they do – speaking of which, his count is 5 does and 1 buck so far! Smoothie’s dam and maternal granddam have both been in the TopTen, though, so we expect lots of milk!
Smoothie is also a lot of peoples’ unicorn, carrying the holy trifecta for the flashy Mini Nubian lovers out there – he’s polled, has blue eyes, and is covered in multi-toned moonspots.
During our Great Downsize of 2025, we collected Smoothie’s semen and sent him on to a great new home. We definitely wanted to keep him longer, but with any luck, some of his straws will work!
